1.What vertical translation is applied to y = x2 if the transformation graph passes through the point (4, 19?)
2.What horizontal translation is applied to y = x2 if the translation image passes through the point (5, 16)?

a) since \(4^2=16\) but you get \(19\) i guess you have to add \(3\) as in \(y=x^2+3\)

for the second one, since \(4^2=16\) you have to subtract \(1\) before you square, as in
\[y=(x-1)^2\]
