For events A and B, the following probabilities are known: Pr[A∪B]=0.8Pr[A]=0.5 What is the value of Pr[B] if A and B are disjoint?P if A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anybody know how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nobody knows how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah if they are disjoint then the probability of the union is the sum of the probabilities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so \[P(A)+P(B)=P(A\cup B)\] you have two out of the three numbers you need to find the third one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just add the numbers together?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.8 and 0.5?
