OpenStudy (one098):

Sure!

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

@One098 Thank you!

OpenStudy (one098):

No problem, number 1 is right, number 2 is not right.. neither number 3.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

4-units DOWN down means the y-coordiantes changes and the x-coordinates remain the same

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

transformation by translation http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/translation.html

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

@nincompoop I think two is B

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

are you just guessing now?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

it is correct though

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

No, I wasn't guessing. @nincompoop

sammixboo (sammixboo):

#1 - Wouldn't it be A, because (a,b) would be in Quadrant 1, and if it was reflected over the y axis it would be in Quadrant 1 which is always x = negative and y = positive so it would be (-a, b)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Tell me if I am wrong, because I coulda gotten confused

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

@sammixboo I dunno, everyone said A was right, I'll look over it.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Okay thanks hun

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

I meant B is right oops

sammixboo (sammixboo):

See (-a, -b) would be in Quadrant 3, but if you flip (a, b) over the Y Axis it would be in Quadrant 2 (-a, b)

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

Ah okay. Can you help with the others? @sammixboo

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yeah I can hun, I will show you step by step on each problem like I did on #1. I will show you why your choice was wrong or why your choice is right.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

For #2 like nin said it is going 4 units down, and down means the y-coordiantes changes and the x-coordinates remain the same... This problem is difficult for me to explain, but I believe it would be B you gotta ask Nin on that question..

sammixboo (sammixboo):

For #4 is right because if you flip all the points on the opposite side the exact way, point A will be on the coordinates will be (-1, 2) For #3 I am not sure if it is right or wrong I totally forgot that I am sorry.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Sorry I had to refresh

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Okay here is for #3. What are the coordinates to Point B?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Right now in the picture

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

A is 1,2

sammixboo (sammixboo):

We are working with just Point B

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

B is -2,1

sammixboo (sammixboo):

THis is hard to explain x_x
