OpenStudy (anonymous):

A mosquito flies toward you with a velocity of 2.4km/h (E) if a distance of 35.0 m seperates you and the mosquito initially at what point (distance and time)will the mosquito hit your sunglasses if you are traveling toward the mosquito with a speed of 2.0 m/s and the mosquito is travelling in a straight path

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First convert km/h to m/s (divide by 3.6) Make the initial point of the mosquito 0m and positive velocity (2.4km/h) And the perosn's initial point at 35m but with a negative velocity (-2m/s) Write two displacement formulas for each: \[x_f=x_i+vt\] And then compare their final displacements: \[x_{iA}+v_At = x_{iB}+v_Bt\] That way your only variable is time.
