When the factors of a trinomial are (x+ p) and (x + q) then the coefficient of the x-term in the trinomial is what?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

(x+p)(x+q) think of it in reverse, to factor the original trinomial, you must have picked the numbers "p" and "q" such that they addup to the coefficient of x-term right ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so the coefficient of x term would be simply "p+q"
