ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hint : 256 = 4^4

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hint2 : when bases are equal, you can set the exponents equal

What i dont understand is how to solve since it is an exponent

OpenStudy (valpey):

Well, you could use Logs to solve this, but I think you are safe to just ask yourself the question, "How many times would I need to multiply four by itself to get 256?" Then go from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh.....so 12-4x=4 so....x=2??

OpenStudy (valpey):

Looks right to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait....how would i do that using log?....sorry just trying to understand completely
