The pooled standard deviation is the average spread of all data points about their group mean. Pooled mean and standard deviation can be calculated by using below formulas: Let N be the sample size of i number of groups, M is the mean of group i and sd_i the standard deviation of group i, then the mean of the combined group is estimated as (Sum NM)/(Sum N) and the standard deviation of the group is estimated as sd_i = sqrt[(Sum((N-1)sd_i^2 / ((sum N) - T)] Where T is the number of participated groups.
