Veterans...
The people whose been here for more than 5-6 months are to me consider veteran on the site...With that said we all know pretty much how everything goes around here. The trolls, the helpers, the Mods, the bugs, etc.
I've only been here for a month o_O
I still don't understand the mods XD
Mm!! Some explanation needs to be going on in here.
@PaulaLovesSchool13 what do you not understand? What mods do? Or....wut..
Now by saying this i feel as thought it is up to us Veterans to really step up and make this site ours! Show all the newcomers that this is our house. What the points of all this? I feel as though as a society we aren't really taking this site to its limits. I believe its time for us to stop asking for change, but demanding it.
Yes, what do the mods do? What ambassadors?! How do you become a mathlete? How do I subscribe to OS? When did OS start? What year did it begin?
I am trying this with OSSF :) I took action before i actually voiced this opinion.
See, I am still a newbie 0_0
Ok. Mods, are the ones that give out warnings and suspensions.(if no mistaking)
That's ALL they do?
Wow, they must be tired of doing that all the time..... o_o
......
There have been many people on the site who have been here for awhile, collected a bunch of medals, answer a bunch of questions, and gained smart score 80+. But take the time to ask yourself what did you really accomplished? You made lots of friends here and there, youve probably without realizing sharpened your skills without even realizing it. But when you look back what will you take from all this. (Conclusion in the next post)
"Life moves on." I didn't know that sir -_-
500......500...500 MEDALS OMG O_O
The last 3 questions........Not sure...Maybe Undead, knows?
Wait what are we answering now O.O
Well I am still a newbie so know I fell like a dumb user here -_-
feel*
Openstudy is probably among the biggest study site the internet world has, users here should be able to take something out of this site, rather than receive medals (that wont really mean anything), You should be able to show a college that you were apart of Openstudy and got a smartscore of 80,85+, and by the college seeing that, that SHOULD contribute to you getting in. Does it now? No, if your show a college you were apart of OS, they'll most likely downplay that would convo. The main point of this post was to see if this site could actually take you somewhere, take you to higher standards. All feedback, solutions, etc would be much appreciated.

no response
you can get a recommendation letter by openstudy for college through the Ambassador program helping on OpenStudy does count as volunteering you can get a certificate for being a subscriber and other certificating had been discussed before
Nice to know, but I sill need to crack out of my shell and start helping out.
Sadly, I am pretty dumb and don't much about this site still :/
Paula, to tell u the truth, I really can't answer it for you! I've never had these kind of questions before. Never thought about them either.
No one is dumb they are just learning :) You cant look at person and say he is dumb because he is new to fishing...Time is the best way to grow :)
@PaulaLovesSchool13 don't worry, there are surely things you will be able to help people with, we have all sorts of people here on openstudy ^_^
@sleepyhead314 @undeadknight26 I have no response, sorry But thanks :)
@sleepyhead314 What about the people who achieve a high smartscore and CANT become an Ambassador. the thing im getting out of all this is that if you don't pay/subscribe anything, this site wont help you.
If your just an average user you cant accomplish anything but, medals, trophies, and a number next to the words smartscore.
"This site won't help you." Who helped get a 99 on my history test? Who helped me with my math problems? Who helped me learn about this site? OS did
I have no idea where I have been without this site. It helped me a lot.
And...why are WE fighting first of all?
@PaulaLovesSchool13 wont help you as a "teacher" not the student.
...?
What? I am shocked. Why are you here if this site doesn't help you sir?
One of the beginning intentions of OpenStudy is to reflect your soft skills (problem solving, teamwork, engagement) and be applicable to real life applications as I was saying before, admins/mods/behind-the-scenes people have indeed been discussing ways to give certificates to people who have contributed a great deal to OpenStudy
I joined for help, not for some freaking trophy
Ambassadors are the ones that welcome try to avoid arguments and they also the ones that give out suspension. Mathlete: In math, you have to recieve 500 medals in order to be a Mathlete. Now, that's only in math. The minimum for all subjects, is 50 medals. U unlock titles once you get to that many medals.
And to help others :)
@YanaSidlinskiy You already told me, why are you saying it again?
My badxD.Sorry..
lol XD
If your here to learn this site will help you greatly, but if your here to help others and archive a high smartscore for a school to look at they wont really help/give a "certificate" if you don't pay...
Noticed that this went totally the other way around:) It was supposed to be about Veterans but....went..
they are/have been looking into a way for people to get certificates for helping on openstudy @Night-Watcher
@yanasidlinskiy Lol, true. @sleepyhead314 Cool, that's what i wanted to find out.
Alright *students* stop fighting and keep doing your work :)
I feel as though this has gone on long enough...
Yes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGImopr5vw4 having OpenStudy be applicable to the real world has been part of what OpenStudy is since the beginning there are a few more things to fix on this site (mod tools, orange wars, etc) before they can work on certificate things I think
Thank you for all the feedback. This post has officially come to a close.
@Night-Watcher yeah yeah old post... guess what I found yesterday? :P and this is why you should keep on top of OpenStudy's blog and news ;) http://blog.openstudy.com/2014/09/12/need-community-service-hours/ I believe this is what you wanted ^_^
Haha, thanks @sleepyhead314
