There are two main ways in which molecules are transported into and out of cells - active transport and passive transport. Which of the following statements is true of passive transport? Energy, in the form of ATP, is essential for passive transport. Endocytosis and exocytosis are two forms of passive transport. Molecules move up a concentration gradient during passive transport. Carrier proteins are sometimes used during passive transport.

hello @sLawson Welcome to Openstudy..!! :-)

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

what do you think the answer would be..??

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

okay.. so Ill give you a clue it cant be B because exocytosis and endocytosis are not types of passive transport but rather they are the types of active transport..

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

and in A - energy in the form of ATP is transported only in active transport not passive.!!

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

so it cant be A nor B

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

and carrier proteins are SOMETIMES used in the passive transport but mostly used in FACILITATED TRANSPORT....so finally what do you think it could be..?? @sLawson

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

u there..!!!???
