Does (f - g)(x) result in the same function as (g - f)(x)? Explain

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

No it does not. Think of it in simple terms such as this: (5-2)(10)= (f-g)(x) 5-2= 3 Multiply by 10 =30 Now if we do (g - f)(x) it would look like this (2-5)(10) 2-5=(-3) Multiply by 10 =(-30) Positive and negative numbers are and never will be the same : )

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

*are not
