I think the meaning of life is to love others and to show that your a caring person and you wanna show how much love you can show. Once again my opinion. Life is a like a path either way you go left or right you'll go somewhere and you'll realize the right way was only straight ahead.

What really sucks is when the thing you have believed in and trusted and loved turns around and betrays you. And when that happens life does seem meaningless. That 'thing' you rely on and idolise so much may even be yourself, and when you don't live up to your own expectations its like a punch in the gut. Take it from the guy who wishes he lived in the 18th century; its difficult to maintain such stringent standards of morality. Even sacrificing everything to run off to the army and be the patriotic hero has its disadvantages. I believe the meaning of life to be unique to the individual and yet uniform to the entirety of humanity. And that's an oxymoron and paradox and counter-intuitive statement I know. For example, the meaning of one persons life may be to become a renowned historian and well respected archaeologist (which is his personal ambition) and yet still have the desire to find love, happiness and a family (which are common-place human desires). So, one person is quite dissimilar to another and his wish may be for fame, fortune or forgiveness while still retaining conformity to the nature of humanity. And despite how truly selfish these desires are, faith will grant him the dream that one day he will also be loved and happy and not alone.
