Confirm that f and g are inverses by showing that f(g(x)) = x and g(f(x)) = x. f(x)=8/x and g(x)=8/x to me they are not inverses but the same equation the inverse would be x/8

Since f and g are functions, we are discussing function inverses and not multiplicative or additive inverses. To confirm they are function inverses of each other, you simply substitute one function for the x value in the other function. For example, f(g(x)= 8/(8/x) Simplify and you will see that f(g(x)=x
