Which point lies on the y-axis, but not on the x-axis? (0, –2) (0, 0) (1, 1) (2, 0) I'm not sure what this question is asking, can someone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is asking what point is on the y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me figure it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the point 0,0 would be found on both. 1,1 is not on an axis because it is floating. 2,0 lies on the x-axis. so that leaves 0,-2 is the last one and lies on y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is looking for what point is on |dw:1411699375659:dw| that axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be 0,0? To me that made the most sense but I wasn't completely sure of it. :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

that pretty much explained it....look at her drawing and where she plotted the points. Now which one is not on the x axis ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

its no (0,0) because that lies on both axis

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

typo..NOT

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y is the line going up and down x is the line going from left to right

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

look at your points (0,-2) ....that is on the y axis (the up and down line), but not on the x axis (the left to right line).
