I asked this guy what religion he was bc he was talking about God; this is what he told me "Religion is made for people and all religion have common things. Like we all believe that GOD is one and to spend your life with a girl without marriage is also sin and, telling a lie is a sin Then what matter from which religion u r" This is certainly a New-Age religion, what is our opinion on the matter? I think that its not my place to pass judgment. Even though a lot of the time i will admittedly judge based on stereotypes of my own concoction (ie. people who dont wear a helmet when on a bike should be tasered by the police for breaking the law). But I opine that its extremely difficult to get teenagers to want to go to church. Back home in Australia growing up I was the only teenager (in the whole word it seemed) that went to church and I felt it so unfair, why should I go to church when my mates get to sleep in on Sunday morning. My church was a bunch of old people and a few young families and I had no one to relate to and honestly it was so boring. Not until my confirmation did I realise what church really was and how important it is. I was never atheist, I always loved God but I never understood why he couldn't just make church more fun with better music and more people my age because honestly I felt so alone. I wished so much for another person who I could talk to about God and who could understand where I am coming from and who wasn't 50 years older than me. And until the other day I didn't have anyone, until you came along and told me Oxford wasn't as good as Cambridge. So really, I should be thanking you and God for 'giving' me you, you plutocrat. As for the sex before marriage thing etc etc well unfortunately the world has changed so much and kids these days are so arrogant and ignorant and they think they're so invulnerable to the consequences of their actions. I personally believe in no sex before marriage but that doesn't stop me being a human teen male; it just makes being faithful to God harder. I surround myself with a wall of moralistic standards that I HAVE to live up to because the one thing i worship almost as much as God is myself and I cannot condone immorality being used in the same sentence as my name. I always have to appear as the perfect gentleman and I really hope I come across that way. All i am saying is that its difficult to be a Christian and that its even harder to be a human. 'Being human is the most terrible loneliness in the universe.' A.A. Attanasio.
