Fans&& Medals( Help Please!!) Carla is performing an experiment in which she tests the boiling point of several different liquids. Carla is about to pour the liquids into a set of beakers and graduated cylinders. What should Carla do to avoid any potential hazards? A. inspect the glassware for chips and cracks before she pours the liquids into them B. take her safety glasses off when she pours the liquids so she can see more clearly C. experiment with mixing the liquids together to see what happens D. place the liquids near a sink so she can pour them out when she is finished

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhonyy9 @JFraser @prowrestler PLease help!!

OpenStudy (jfraser):

can you eliminate any of the options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I tried but i'm not really sure, so that's why I gave up && was just like Can anybody give me the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know the answer?? @JFraser

OpenStudy (jfraser):

I do, but I'm not going to just give it to you. I think you can figure it out with a little help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay okay, Please go ahead && Help.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

can you eliminate any of the options right away as being obviously wrong? Pick one and see if it makes sense to AVOID hazards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um B && C I can eliminate.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

good. What's wrong with B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is wrong because if she takes her safety glasses off then, it's most likely a chance of getting any chemicals in her eyes && it can mess up her eye sight.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

exactly. if the whole point is to avoid a hazard, being unsafe is exactly the opposite of that. That leaves A and D as options. Which of those two is an unsafe or "bad" idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the Answer is A

OpenStudy (jfraser):

why can you eliminate D, then? Why is D a bad idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because there is a possibility that the liquids could get knocked down && mess up things.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

not really. pouring the liquids down the sink would be just as bad as mixing them together on the table. Who knows what kind of reaction could happen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah, but i thought you pour them down the sink when you finish them anyway. But yeah so the answer would be A Right?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

it is

OpenStudy (jfraser):

if you don't know what the liquids are, the last thing you do is just 'throw them out'. all sorts of things could happen when different liquids are mixed, and none of them are good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aww, Okay lol Thanks Hun.
