What is the traditional interpretation of why the French Revolution started? Class conflict started the revolution. Enlightenment philosophies started the revolution. The French monarchy let the people eat only cake. The revolution started on Bastille Day in 1789.

It cannot be D, since that is when, not what. It is not C, cause they didn't have anything to eat. It would be A, since the poor didn't have enough to eat while the rich did.
