HELP! What are the solutions of the equation? 15+|x|=26 Choose all answers that are correct. (Points : 1) –41 –11 11 41
Try solving the above first for |x|
idk how thats why i put it on here
how?
ok i didn't know you didn't know how to isolate |x|
so that means if we had the equation 15+x=26 you wouldn't know how to solve that for x right?
soory that sounded meaner then what i thought in my head :(
no
ok so do you know that a+(-a)=0?
idk what your talking about honestly
so you don't know what 15+(-15) is?
0?
yes a+(-a) is 0
so if we had the equation a+|x|=b and I wanted to solve it I would first +(-a) on both sides so I would have a+(-a)+|x|=b+(-a) 0+|x|=b+(-a) but 0+|x| is |x| |x|=b+(-a) <--- so we have solve a+|x|=b for |x|
can you do that with your problem solve it for |x| now?
hint the +(-15) on both sides
ok you lost me..... but just never mind i have like a minute left before i submit it and i know i wont get it in time
