It is because many mexicans are coming to the U.S. therefore, many believe in 20 years that spanish will be the main language.

@nikki129 The people of Hispanic descent were here before people of French and English descent.  In fact, some places had larger Hispanic populations before there was a USA wrapped around them.  California is a good example of this.  

The huge "explosion" of Hispanic population that "suddenly" happened is not real.  They used to only put Black, Caucasian, and Asian as races on census forms.  So for years, all the people of Hispanic decent were recorded as Caucasians, even if their families had been in California for over 200 years.  Then they changed the census forms and what we suddenly got over the next two census submissions was more accurate data.

I am not saying more people of Hispanic decent are not coming in.  In fact, many get migrant visas, come legally, and stay.  It is the staying past the visa time that makes them illegal.  They do this for an assortment of reasons, but the largest is the violent drug wars.  They want to escape the areas where that is causing tons of murders.
