write a fictional newspaper story assuming that the Declaration of Independence was never written. Assume that the United States does not exist, as it is still a British colony. Imagine that the same issues that the colonists experienced in the late 1700s are still happening today! Your assignment is to choose two of the grievances to incorporate into a story as if they were still occurring. Your story should show the impact that this has on the citizens today. Be creative!

http://www.socialstudiesforkids.com/articles/ushistory/revolutionarywartimeline.htm Well this should be easy! I don't know what is causing the confusion, and so I'm taking a guess. Anyways, the link above gives a list of grievances that had taken place before the Revolution. Most of these events were unfair taxation without representation. (Which means that America was taxed unfairly, and didn't have anyone representing them over in Britain where they discussed the taxation.) So perhaps pick out two of those events you feel comfortable with and read the articles which will help out a lot. Once you got that done then you just start writing! Basically the two grievances you picked out should talk about how you feel Americans would feel today in the world if these were to be still in place.
