First you need to move the 4 onto the other side
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay then?
OpenStudy (stefrheart):
so:
4-3x=7x-6
-4 -4
-3x=7x-10
-10x=-10
x=1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So how would you solve this one?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
8 + 4x = -10 + x

Would you take 8 off the ten? then put a 1 in front of the x?
OpenStudy (stefrheart):
you need to subract the 8 on both sides
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So now you have 4x = -18 + x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@hartnn
OpenStudy (paki):
"4x = -18 + x"
now compare the like terms...

Well thats what im confused about
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Would you make it 5x?
OpenStudy (paki):
no
OpenStudy (paki):
4x = -18 + x
4x-x= -18............. solve now plz
OpenStudy (anonymous):
uhh im still confused

hmmm where...? tell me...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how would you minus x from x when you dont know what x equals
OpenStudy (paki):
it's equation.... here we will add or subtract the similar terms... like x or x^2 or x^3... tire.... got it now...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So what would be the solution to the equation?
OpenStudy (paki):
what you got from here...
4X-X= -18

Yes i need help, So what would be the next step?
OpenStudy (paki):
rite.... just add +4X-X.... What will be the answer from here..?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I have no idea
OpenStudy (paki):
what if i say 3X...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If it is 3x you would divide both sides by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):
So it would be -6
OpenStudy (paki):
yeah of course, i will divide it by the value with "x"... and here it is "3"... so that "x" remains alone... that is the basic operation in equations....
