Someone help me with this last question for a fan and medal!!!! I need to get this done within 30 minutes!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A system of linear inequalities is shown below: x + 2y < -5 x - y > 0 Describe the steps to graph the solution set to the system of inequalities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will give you 2 medals and a fan if you can help me. The 2nd medal I will give to you in a different thread.

Nnesha (nnesha):

first you have to get this in y form

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know how we get in y by itself ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, hang on.

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok when you finish let me know the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you subtract the 2y to both sides? Itself and -5?

Nnesha (nnesha):

no for first equation you have to subtract x both side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, okay. Hang on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So after you subtract the x to both sides, you would get: -2y<-6. After that you divide by -2y and you will get: y<3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That correct?

Nnesha (nnesha):

where you get 6 from??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You subtract the 1x (or x) to both sides. If you subtract -5 by 1 it would become -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1411846398581:dw| we cannot combine x and -5 because they are different one is with variable and one is not
