Hey guys :3 , I got a problem solving problem number 1, c in the first worked example in Session 1: Introduction to Derivatives and the solution doen't tell how I can solve the problem .. help please :)

OpenStudy (phi):

Are you asking about the problem that involves using the applet? To answer part c. you use the top slider (orange) to select the x value e.g. -0.75 click the Tangent box, and you will see that dy/dx = -0.16 within .1 of that value would be -0.16-0.1= -0.26 and -0.16 + 0.10 = -0.06 use the bottom slider (yellow) so that \(\Delta y / \Delta x\) is -0.26 and note the value for \( \Delta x \) now do the same thing for -0.06 any \( \Delta x \) between those values is an answer.

thank you :)
