Yes, but not the event itself, the event lead to Paul Revere's engraving of the event which favoured the Patriot cause, causing a huge surge of support from the colonists to the Patriots.

The Boston Massacre was not really a massacre, Paul Revere however did portray it that way. The Boston Massacre occurred on King Street, in a colony where there were tense relations between the colonists and the soldiers. Eventually a mob formed around a British sentry, who was subjected to verbal abuse and harassment. The sentry was eventually supported by eight additional soldiers, who were like the sentry, subjected to verbal threats and thrown objects. The issue rises, that they soldiers fired into the crowd, without orders, instantly killing three people and wounding others. Five people died total, two were people who died later of wounds sustained from the incident.
