yes the longest chain would be nonane.
next thing yo have to do is count the shortest way where you can find the attached alkyl group. (it is not necessary to count always at the beginning, you can count from the end of the chain because that is the shortest way)

yes, then count the substituents and from there start naming them alphabetical order, its not so hard once you follow those simple rules:)
