I don't want to be KJ but can you guys \(chillax\) for awhile? \(\sf \LARGE First\), we still have to wait for Preetha's permission to let us do what we aim to do. I'm not saying we should stop serving Openstudy but what I'm saying is, don't get too overwhelmed because we are still an "unofficial group" here in OS. Making posts about this group everyday or every time (based from my observations), only makes other users think that we are just gathering some medals or these kind of posts can be also considered as'spam' (which I know we don't want to happen). If you want to talk to other users, just pm them or make a post and close it (like what I did). \(\sf \LARGE Second \) thing is about the logos. I've seen a lot of posts in Openstudy Feedback about making logos for this group, don't you think that the right place to post that kind of thing is in the Design section? and it is better just to tag all the members and ask them? because as I've said before, we are still "unofficial group". Haven't you notice that ambassadors or moderators doesn't have those kind of fancy logos? If you want to make a logo that looks professional, it shouldn't be too fancy. Keep it simple so that it is recognizable and easy to remember (like Ambassadors, they only have "A" badge beside their names). \(\sf \LARGE Third\), while we are waiting for their permission, we should spend our time thinking about what kind of rules we should have so that no members will let the name of the group down. Like for example, our leader should also train us and tell us the do's and dont's in this group. We should act as role models to other users and show Preetha that we can make this group work and prove that they can trust us that we are responsible. That's all. Looking forward to working with you all ^_^ Thanks for the acceptance @undeadknight26 . P.S. please update us about what Preetha thinks about this group if ever you contacted her (besides the post that she thinks this is a great idea) .. looking forward to it :)
I have not done anything yet, I am not as into this thing as everybody else seems to be.
I completely agree with @Data_LG2 ^_^ though I believe all these posts are just a hype thing that will die down after a while like everything else has. The best test to see how much people are actually dedicated to something is to see who's still left standing after a period of time. For example, the first new cohort of ambis received a lot of hype and all, but now maybe about 5 out of the original 10 are active daily. Logos SHOULD indeed be going into the Design section. I personally think the whole profile picture changing thing is a bit over doing it. Sure, we can have something to identify ourselves as "OSSF" but having all the same brand of profile pictures is flaunting ourselves too much. We should be inconspicuous enough so that normal users will continue to think of us as equals and be able to confide in us without feeling pressured by our gang like presence.
as for training... OSSF seems similar to Ambassadors with only a difference in leadership and concentration on chats. @undeadknight26 would you like for me to dig up some ambassador training things for you to use?
that's exactly what I have in mind :) "We should be inconspicuous enough so that normal users will continue to think of us as equals and be able to confide in us without feeling pressured by our gang like presence." #TRUE
