A car accelerates uniformly from rest to a speed of 24.8km/h in 5.0s. Find the distance it travels during this time. Answer in units of m

OpenStudy (kropot72):

First convert the speed to m/s by multiplying 24.8 by 1000 and the 1 hour by 3600. \[\large Final\ speed=\frac{24800}{3600}m/s\] The average speed during the 5.0s is half the final speed. The distance traveled during the 5.0s is the average speed in m/s multiplied by 5: \[\large Distance =\frac{24800\times5}{3600\times2}=(you\ can\ calculate)\ m\]
