-5v = 6v + 5 - v

OpenStudy (nfcfox):

Well let's look to see if we can add like terms. On the right we can. What variable can we add/subtract?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v

OpenStudy (nfcfox):

Ok so look at the quantity of the variable, 6v and -v. So let's just simply do 6v-v to get 5v. Therefore the right side is 5v+5. Subtract our 5v to get the v's on the same side and we get -10v= 5. Let's divided to get v= -1/2

Oh I understand, thanks!
