Which two laws helped transform American life in the 1950s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1) The Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, (Public Law 84-627), was enacted on June 29, 1956. This law provided jobs for 35 years forward and changed the economic landscape of the country as a result. Got to hand this applause to President Eisenhower of course. It was also known as the National Intersate and Defense Highway Act. (Economic based). (2) Brown v. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483 (1954); it paved the way for integration. (Social based).
