The midpoint of line CD is E (-1,0). One endpoint is C (5,2). What are the coordinates of the other endpoint? Please explain and show work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since CE and ED are equidistant from E, CE=ED.|dw:1412030909532:dw| Since it takes a distance of 6 to get from 5 to -1, then subtract 6 to get the equidistant x value, which is -7. And since it takes 2 to get from 2 to 0, subtract 2 again to get -2. So D(-7,-2)
