solve the inequality: |k|-6≤-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when dealing with modulus, you have to isolate it and square both sides, can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. I did the problem and came with the answers 5 and 7 but wolfram alpha says its ± 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*plus or minus 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\left| k \right| \le 5\] you get that from rearanging the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but also you have to do |k|-6≥1--->k≥7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you square it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to to solve a modulus but i made a mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do it do
