OpenStudy (merchandize):

The probability that a certain kind of component will survive a shock is 0.75. Find the probability 1) exactly two of the next 8 component tested survive. 2) at least two will survive. Solve it by binomial distribution

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, what are your attempts?

OpenStudy (merchandize):

i have solved the first part. by using binomial distribution equation. i want to know about second part of it.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the second part is simpler if you do a complement

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1 - [P(0) + P(1)]

OpenStudy (merchandize):

is it sure that we will be subtracting 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well the sum of all probabilites is 1, so the complement is subtracted from 1

OpenStudy (merchandize):

Thank you so much.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome
