(X^2-x-4)^(3/4)-2=6

OpenStudy (aum):

Add 2 to both sides. Raise both sides to the power 4/3. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{-4,5}

@aum

OpenStudy (triciaal):

correct

OpenStudy (triciaal):

good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(X^2-x-4)^(3/4)-2 I was going to finish the rest of my work but thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have been having the worst time solving this problem X^-2-x^-1-20=0 I guess the negative exponents are throwing me off

OpenStudy (triciaal):

think of negative = 1/positive when doing exponents

OpenStudy (triciaal):

x^-1 = 1/x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I think this is how it should be rewritten yet I find myself being confused even more 1/x^2- 1/x-20=0
