Trigonometry 23 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x^2+16x+12 factor it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when x^2 has a coefficient: multiply a and c (-3 and 12 here) find two number that add up to b (16 here) and multiply to a*c (-36 here) split b into these two number factor here: -36 is 18-2 so we can rewrite the equation as: -3x^2+18x-2x+12 and factor the rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean -36 is -2*18 and 16 is 18-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x^2+18x-2x+12 -3x(x-6)-2(x-6) (-3x-2)(x-6)

ok thank you
