That depends on your opinion of gender roles. I'm anti-gender roles, personally, so if I were to write this thesis statement would probably go something like, "Gender roles are a really lame social construct which mean nothing and yet we take them seriously for some reason."
But ultimately, the thesis relies on your opinion.
