How far does a bookworm travels if each cover is (front/back) is 0.25" thick and each page of a 400 page book is 0.0044" thick? I am thinking about using the cylinder formula, calculating for height. Am I on the right track?

Someone please help me with my question..Thx.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

2 covers @ 0.25'" + 400 pages @ 0.0044"each = distance traveled in inches. I see a length from front of book to back of book

Oh OK..maybe I am over thinking this problem. I am viewing it as an open cylinder because the bookworm bore its way through. But If I am looking for total distance traveled then yes adding the two equation would give me 2.26" per n number of volumes, which in this case the bookworm has taken approx. 29.4" in a 13 volume book set. Thanks!
