I'm not sure what subject of math this would go in, but could someone explain how to simplify negative exponents please?

OpenStudy (espex):

When you say "simplify negative exponents", what is it you're trying to do? A negative exponent is just a positive exponent when put into the denominator. \[e^{-1} == \frac{1}{e}\] \[9^{-6} == \frac {1}{9^6}\] etc. etc.
