1.1) What challenges do Arctic areas face as a result of global warming? 2) What measures could help deal with the problem? 3) What do you predict will happen to Arctic ecosystems if no measures are taken to reverse the problem of global warming? Explain your reasoning. 4) Which measures do you think are most important to pursue? Support your opinion with reasons.

So lets look at the reality, the Arctic is warming much faster then the rest of the world ~3-5c so far on average. which has cause Arctic sea ice to shrink dramatically. over ~35 years it has changed this much. http://igloo.atmos.uiuc.edu/cgi-bin/test... Over the years deniers have tried some quite lame tricks to try and counter this obvious decline, one was using the above link but using mid winter dates (when the sea ice has reformed) the end of each Summer is the guide to the long term loss and that decline is quite obvious. http://climate.nasa.gov/key_indicators#s... The other game deniers try to play is to pick out small increases and say look it's recovering, we get such a rise on a regular basis but it's really not that hard to see that for each rise there are several declines and each new high is lower than the last, how deniers extrapolate recovery from such data is anyone guess. Arctic ice will come and go in extent, but big changes are not possible because the temperature of the Arctic ocean is controlled by how much ice it has, less ice causes heat to escape from the ocean and it to get cooler, more ice the ocean water can stay warmer, so to a certain extent it is self regulating. because of it's latitude there will always be some ice, especially in winter, but even in summer the ice can never completely disappear.
