Music 16 Online
OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

Music of the World-Have You Been Enrolled? I am seeking a class to fulfill my fine arts credit; I am looking into Music of the World on FLVS. Has anyone ever been enrolled or are currently taking that class? If so, is it a breeze or does it come with book work? (I can already read music and understand musical terms, if that will make the class easier).

I love flvs! but I have never taken music of the world..

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

@kersten15 So do I, it gave me the chance to finish all my science credits in 2 years, plus more! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awsome!

@Compassionate You have any info on this class?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

i. It's easy if you already know how to read music. If not, getting a grip on the symbols may take awhile. ii. No, it does not come with a textbook, but additional course material can be purchased for the class. You can also visit the Course Information area for more information on textbooks. The course doesn't really focus heavily on composing, reading and writing music. It's more a history class - it discusses classic composers, African and Native composers. It also talks about how music has changed the world, discusses pop culture and other similarities. It's like a history class for music, basically, but it has its technically aspects.

Alrighty, thank you.
