x = The amount of 10% salt water to be added to the tank.
y = The amount of 25% salt water to be added to the tank.

Then, x + y = 5 gallons

Perfect.

Now, equate the salt.

How much salt will we get from 'x'?
How much salt will we get from "y"?
How much salt in  total?

x/10+y/4=(x+y)/5
4x+10y=8x+8y
4x=2y
y=2x
total of volume x+y=5
x+2x=5
3x=5,x=5/3,y=2x=10/3

25 percent    10/3 gallons
