The Middle Ages is a long period. Muslims ruled in Spain and thrived for a long period. Arab libraries preserved learning and literature. Some states thrived. 

Mongols loved coming down south to get the goodies.

My guess would be C. but im not 100% sure about that you may need a second opinion!
