How are light microscopes similar and different to electron microscopes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aaronq you know or nah

OpenStudy (aaronq):

They are similar in that they are to amplify the image of a small object. They have a lot of differences; a fundamental one being that light microscopes use visible light to observe objects, while electron microscopes use electrons. Light microscopes can see live specimens but have a lower resolution, while electron microscopes have better resolution but cannot look at live specimens.
