give me a sec @Clout_Lord00
okay
The Populist Party started out as a social club for farmers, but turned political. It was started mainly over complaints about problems the government had caused. Notably this included foreclosures on land during periods of poor harvests. During the economic depression of the late 1880's (peaking in 1893), the party gained popularity as an alternative to the main political parties (Democrats, Republicans). The Populists gained control of the Kansas legislature in 1890, and gained national prominence through the Farmers' Alliance and the Knights of Labor (union). Despite garnering a million votes in the presidential election of 1892, by 1896 the party had splintered as many of its platforms were taken up by the Democratic Party. dude this was all i could find ill keep looking but there isnt much info @Clout_Lord00
