Please help.... Medal and fan for help 1.Where was Sir Walter Raleigh's colony? Long Island Greenland Roanoke Island Puerto Rico 2.Why did the Pilgrims come to the New World? They wanted to get rich. They wanted religious freedom. They wanted to have land. 3.Why did Spain become interested in exploring America? The Spice Islands did not provide enough wealth. It was too long and costly to look for a new water route. America was the only remaining undiscovered land.

3.Simple, they didn't explore it because they didn't know it existed until Western explorers got there and news slowly trickled east from Europe to them. They also didn't care about exploration. China was called the Middle Kingdom not because of an earthly location, but because it was the kingdom situated between the barbarian earth and perfect heaven. China was so epic (in their eyes) that no one was worth their time. Of course, this whole idealism came crashing down when Europeans wiped out their pitiful navy and carved up their coastal areas like so much turkey. But, frankly said, you just can't explore something that you don't know exists.
