Can I please have the equation to this problem?? A length of rope was cut into 9 equal sections. If the rope was 54 inches long, how long was one section?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to put this in a linear equation

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

length of 1 section = 54/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to know the length of one section. If the whole rope was 54 then divide it by the number of sections, you will get the length of one section
