Can someone help and explain? Louanne and Carla received equal scores on a test made up of multiple choice questions and an essay. Louann got 14 multiple choice questions correct and received 24 points for her essay. Carla got 16 multiple choice questions correct and received 14 points for her essay. How many points was each multiple choice question worth?

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

Alright then. So Carla got 2 more multiple choice question correct than Louann did. However, Louann's essay scored 10 more points than Carla's. They both got the same amount of points, so thereby, 2 multiple choice questions = how many points?

I don't know. I doesn't say what their final test score is. I normally get these problems, but this one i just dont.

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

You don't need to know the final test score. Louann's essay was 24 Points. Carla's was 14 points. Carla got 16 multiple choice questions right, while Louann got 14. The question is, how many "points" was each multiple choice question worth.

Is it 5?

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

Yep. :) GJ and good luck with the rest of your work.
