OK. Know what the contour interval is?
Yes 20
Good. OK, then, do you know how to find #1?
yes, is it c
Yep. Kk. So, which are you having trouble with them?
then...
numbers 3, 4 and so on
the other maps are confusing
OK, for 3, you have a legend in the lower right of the map. You use that and some ruler or other measure to get the distance.
ok
7km
Yah, that looks closest to me. Slope is the rate of change. The steepes slope is the fastest change. Now, do you know how to approximate the faster or slower change?
no
im guessing west since close contour lines have a steeper slope

Um, yah, I was working on a drawing to show that. Hehe.
|dw:1412205532150:dw|
okay then 5
And if you think about it logically, the closer line has the same drop down, 20 m, but in less length. For 5, think about this. Each line is a distance above sea level. So sea level is 0. So how many lines past sea level are at b? and c?
each are 1 line
Nope, but close. Both are before the first line. So neither point is even 20m up.
ok so the answer is number 2
Correct.
ok
the next map i dont get
Well, it is the same sort of thing, just in feet not meters. They put the elevation on every line, so you don't have to do as much math to find the elevaton. The CI would be any level minus the one below it... so not 20 this time.
but 50 is the interval
Yes. OK, so for #1 here you need to find do you know how to find 7I?
no
