You can find out bugs with an IDE

And there is good old printing of values to see.  A test harness is another way.  That means you use predicable values rather than random or input ones.  They are the same things every time the code runs.

you can also track bugs by releasing a beta version of the program and the then letting users try it out. [from this, you can know where it itches]
