for 9 if x=k*y then x/y=k. so you can check if k is the same for each pair of numbers

what about the other ones?

y=kx So for problem 13, you are given y = 2/3 and x=0.2 So plug them into your equation and solve for k. 2/3=k*0.2 Write .02 as a fraction. 0.2= 2/10 So now you have 2/3 = k(2/10) Solve for k by multiplying both sides by 10/2 10/2 * 2/3 = k 20/6 = k Leave k as an improper fraction. Now you are asked to find the value of y when x = -0.3 Change x to a fraction -0.3 = -3/10 Solve for y with the value of k (20/6) just calculated. y = 20/6 * -3/10 y = -60/60 y = -1
