divide the complex numbers 1+3i/2+2i

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

This is no good. There is nothing to divide. You have written \(1 + \dfrac{3i}{2} + 2i\). Is that what you intended?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

If you mean \(\dfrac{1+3i}{2+2i}\), then the parentheses are NOT optional: (1+3i)/(2+2i) Multiply Numerator and Denominator by the Complex Conjugate, (2-2i), and see what happens.
