What process does Bowne's reaction series illustrate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bowne's reaction series deals with mineral formation due to the cooling of magma. If you need more information, this chart seems pretty nice http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/geophys/imggeo/bowen.gif. This is one type of rock in the rock/mineral cycle known as igneous rock.

can u help me with another one

Briefly describe the process by which magma becomes igneous rock.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what to answer, besides igneous rock being formed due to the cooling of magma. This can occur underground if magma moves away from its heat source or above ground if the magma cools quickly.
